Rules & Regulation for DroneShot Contest

Terms & Conditions

1. The Drone Shots 2021 is in one format only aerial photography. There is no restriction on the type or brand of shooting equipment.

2. The Drone Shots 2021 competition is open to professional and amateur photographers. Anyone over 18 years of age can enter the competition.

3. By registering and entering the Drone Shots competition, you hereby accept these Terms and Conditions.

4. By entering the competition, you agree and acknowledge that Xboom is permitted to receive and review your registration data. Participants agree that personal data including, but not limited to, name, mailing address, phone number, and email address may be collected, processed, stored and otherwise used for the purposes of conducting and administering this competition.

5. This guideline applies to all Drone Shots users (hereinafter referred to as “Users” or “You”), and in addition to this guideline, you are also required to act in accordance with Drone Shots Terms of Use and Xboom Privacy Policy. Unless otherwise specified in this guideline, the definition of related terms referred to hereby are subject to the definitions contained within Drone Shots Terms of Use.

6. Winning photographs may be included in the future in traveling group gallery exhibitions and/or screenings and projections at arts institutions and festivals. Each photographer retains copyright of his or her images, and proper credit lines will be attributed.

7. Xboom reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify and remove any photograph that does not comply with the following requirements, even after the photograph appears on the website. You warrant, in respect of the photographs submitted by you, as follows:

  • You are the sole copyright owner and creator of the photographs.
  • You have the right to enter your photographs in this competition.
  • The photograph does not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, contract rights, or any other intellectual property rights of any third person or entity, or violate any person’s rights of privacy or publicity

8. You acknowledge that Xboom assume no responsibility and are not liable for any image misuse.

10. No matter what, participants should always fly with caution, observe their flight environment and follow local regulations at all times.

FAQs

Q: How do I enter the competition?

A: Once you have completed the online submission form and filled in the details of your entry, You will have a link to upload the image in the drive. Photos with signatures or watermarks are not allowed.

Q: When the winners will be announced ?

A: The winners will be announced 20 days after the submission timeline ends. .

Q: Is there a limit to the number of entries I can enter?

A: No. You may enter the competition as many times as you like.

Q: What are the photo specifications for uploading?

A: Files must meet the following specification:

  • sRGB or Adobe98 colour space, 8-bit;
  • Longest dimension must not exceed 1920 pixels, 72dpi.
  • Saved as a JPG;
  • No Watermarks / Copyright Units / Logos on images;
  • Only bleed photographs without borders;

Finalist Entrants must be able to provide a high resolution digital file of minimum 8 Megapixel (Minimum Pixel Size 2400px x 3600px at 300dpi).

Q: Can I replace or re-arrange my photos after I’ve submitted them?

A: No!

Q: Can I submit diptychs as one image or two?

A: No!

Q: We are two photographers working as a team, can we make one submission?

A: Yes, but please provide background info on both of you in the form so we know it’s a team.

Q: Is there a time limit on when the photograph was taken?

A: No, there are no restrictions on the date of a photograph.

Q: Can I enter an image that has already been published?

A: Yes, both published and unpublished work is accepted.

Q: Can I enter an image that won other competitions?

A: Yes, images that have won prizes in other competitions or that have been submitted to other competitions currently underway are eligible.

Q: Do I need to submit a model release with my portraits?

A: You need to check with the local laws of where you are shooting regarding portrait/street/candid photography - some places are very strict and explicitly require model releases while others are more lenient. As long as your photos fall within the laws of where you made the work, you can submit them to our competition.

Q: How will my images be used?

A: Your images are NEVER used for any purpose other than the promotion of the Drone Shot Competition (exhibition, poster, annual publication/catalogue, postcard, social, etc.), and all the initiatives connected to it. The photographers will be extremely grateful and happy with the manner in which their images will be used and promoted globally.

Q: Where will my image(s) be used/shown?

A: By entering the competition, you are agreeing to be included in the annual publication that showcases the full collection of winning images.

Q: When and how are the results announced?

A: Xboom will contact the winners via e-mail at their registered e-mail addresses. We also plan to announce the winners and winning entries on the Xboom's website.

Q: How much does it cost to enter the Drone Shot competition?

A: The Drone Shot competition is FREE to enter.
