Q5. How does it work?
Ans. The spray contains natural chilli concentrate which is about 20 times stronger than chilli. It is under pressure in the aerosol can. When sprayed, the mixture comes out with pressure and the range is about 5-7 feet. It instantly but temporarily swells mucus membrane and irritates eyes of the attacker, incapacitating him, giving you enough time to run away or call for help. The effect remains for minimum 30-45 minutes. It also works on drunk or mentally unstable person. It can also be used on any attacking animals like mad dogs etc.
Q6. Can I carry it while traveling?
Ans. Yes, but not in a plane cabin. You may carry it in you Pocket, handbag or Belt Pouch.
Q7. What to do if I accidentally spray it?
Ans. The face or affected area should be washed with water. One should not rub it. If you have milk, you can use milk for faster relief. Baby Shampoo can also be used to wash off the eyes , face or the affected area. The room where sprayed should be ventilated immediately. Remain CALM. The effect should go off in half an hour, if even after an hour the effect remains then, consult a Physician. Q10. What is the expire time period of this product?
Ans. This product expires after 2 years.
Q11. How much quantity and size?
Ans. The can is small (35 diameters and about 95 mm length), can easily be carried in a purse or pocket. It contains about 25 grams of product, sufficient to take care of 6-8 attackers. It can be sprayed continuously for about 7 seconds or about 14 bursts of ½ second each. Remember the Aerosol container is Pressurized so avoid puncturing, direct exposure to sunlight or exposure to heat more than 60 Degree Celsius ( The can Might Burst causing Injury).
Q12. How effective is Pepper Spray & what are the effects?
Ans. When sprayed with Pepper Spray, the immediate effect is of severe burning sensation in the eyes (thus shutting them), apart from this the liquid also penetrates the skin pores & creates a burning sensation from within, also the spray causes very heavy irritation in the mucous membrane inside the nasal cavity, the overall effect of these factors renders the person completely helpless and in very high degree of pain and burning for 30-45 minutes which time the “Probable Victim” can flee and get the help of Police etc.
Q13. How long does it take to affect on the inflicted person?
Ans. The effect is immediately on contact.
Q14. How long do the effects last?
Ans. For the complete effects to wear off takes up to 2-3 hrs, however, the maximum effect is for 30-45 minutes when the person is completely helpless & in a very high degree of pain & discomfort, unable to open his eyes and is brought to his knees without any power to do any harm.
Q15. Does it have any permanent effects?
Ans. NO. Pepper Spray has no known permanent effects, the initial 30-45 min.s of high discomfort & pain and 2-3 hrs of discomfort are the only effects.
Q16. Is this an “ARM” under the ‘Arms Act’?
Ans. Yes, Pepper Spray is an “ARM” under the “ARMS act”, anything made or designed for the specific purpose of Defense or Offense & machinery used to manufacture the same, fall under the category of “ARMS” by this definition even a wooden pole made for the reason of attacking or defending is an “ARM”, however if the same is used for agriculture purpose it is not labeled as an “ARM”. Hence Pepper Spray used for self-defense (sec 96-106) is not prohibited by law.
Q17. Is a license required to carry this?
Ans. Under the “ARMS Act”, the license is required only for “Firearms” (containing gunpowder & explosive ingredients), hence no license is required for Pepper Spray.
Q18. Is it difficult to use?
Ans. Pepper Spray has been specifically designed keeping in mind that this is going to be used when the person is under attack & probably one of the hands is already busy in warding off the attacker, hence Pepper Spray has been designed for simple and single hand “draw & spray” action. It is very easy to use it and men, women and the aged can use it without any strain.
Q19. Does one need to target practice to use this effectively?
Ans. All a person needs to do is, aim in the general direction of the face of the attacker & press down the nozzle. This is as easy to use as a “CAN” of room fresher or Pesticide spray (such as HIT). But a basic Practice in Using it once or twice can be Helpful in time of need.
