FAQs on Pepper Spray

Q1. What is Advance Pepper Spray?

Ans. Advance Pepper Spray is an aerosol spray that contains chili oil extracted from cayenne pepper. It immediately irritates the eyes and respiratory system, disabling attackers on contact. The Extra Hot & Strong formula, combined with a sturdy build, makes it a highly reliable self-defense tool. Moreover, anyone—regardless of strength, size, or age—can use it with ease. It serves as a perfect safety companion for working women, college students, travelers, security guards, and more.

Q2. What is the spray range?

Ans. The spray can reach up to 7 feet, allowing you to maintain a safe distance from the attacker.

Q3. How many shots can one canister deliver?

Ans. One canister delivers approximately 20–23 shots, giving you multiple chances to protect yourself.

Q4. Is it leakage-proof?

Ans. Yes, the unique design ensures it remains completely leak-free, even under pressure.

Q5. How does it work?

Ans. The spray uses a powerful natural chili concentrate that is nearly 20 times stronger than regular chili. When you press the nozzle, the mixture sprays out forcefully and reaches the attacker within a 5–7 feet range. It instantly causes intense irritation and swelling of the eyes and nasal membranes, which incapacitates the attacker. As a result, you gain valuable time to escape or seek help. The effect lasts for 30–45 minutes and also works on intoxicated individuals or aggressive animals.

Q6. Can I carry it while traveling?

Ans. Yes, you can carry it easily in your pocket, handbag, or belt pouch. However, you must store it in check-in luggage and not inside an airplane cabin.

Q7. What should I do if I accidentally spray it?

Ans. If the spray contacts your skin or eyes, immediately wash the affected area with water. Avoid rubbing. You can use milk or baby shampoo to speed up relief. Additionally, ventilate the area right away. Stay calm. The discomfort should subside within 30 minutes. If irritation persists after an hour, consult a doctor. Since pepper spray is non-lethal and widely used, its effects are temporary. The full cap design also reduces chances of accidental sprays.

Q8. Is it only for women?

Ans. No, anyone who needs personal protection can use Advance Pepper Spray, regardless of gender.

Q9. What is the expiration period?

Ans. The product remains effective for 2 years from the date of manufacture.

Q10. What are the size and quantity details?

Ans. The compact canister measures about 35mm in diameter and 95mm in height. It contains 25 grams of chili extract—enough to neutralize 6–8 attackers. You can spray it continuously for 7 seconds or deliver around 14 half-second bursts. Because it’s a pressurized aerosol, you must avoid puncturing or exposing it to heat above 60°C.

Q11. How effective is it during an attack?

Ans. When sprayed, it immediately causes intense burning in the eyes, irritation in the nasal cavity, and discomfort on exposed skin. These effects render the attacker helpless for 30–45 minutes, giving you enough time to escape and call for help.

Q12. How quickly does it take effect?

Ans. The effects begin immediately upon contact with the attacker.

Q13. How long do the effects last?

Ans. The most intense effects last for 30–45 minutes, while minor discomfort can remain for up to 2–3 hours.

Q14. Does it cause permanent harm?

Ans. No, pepper spray causes no permanent damage. Its effects are temporary and wear off naturally.

Q15. Is pepper spray considered a weapon under the Arms Act?

Ans. Yes, the Arms Act classifies pepper spray as an “arm” because it is a device intended for defense. However, using it for personal safety is permitted under Sections 96–106 of the Indian Penal Code.

Q16. Do I need a license to carry it?

Ans. No, you do not need a license. The Arms Act requires licenses only for firearms containing explosive materials. Since pepper spray is non-explosive, it is exempt.

Q17. Is it easy to use during an emergency?

Ans. Yes, designers created it for quick one-hand operation. You can draw and spray even if one hand is occupied during an attack.

Q18. Do I need any training or practice to use it effectively?

Ans. Not really. You just need to aim toward the attacker’s face and press the nozzle—similar to using a room freshener. Still, we recommend practicing once or twice to build familiarity and confidence.
