A 5-DOF metal-gear robotic arm with a 120° wide-angle HD camera at the end effector. The arm learns colour sorting, target tracking, QR pick-and-place and intelligent transport — because the vision system is looking at the object from the gripper’s point of view, not somewhere on the chassis.

Four omnidirectional wheels. Metal-gear servos. Real motion.

Four Mecanum wheels give MasterPi true 360° omnidirectional motion — forward, sideways, diagonal, in-place rotation. LDX-218 full-metal-gear digital servos with dual ball bearings and 17 KG-cm torque handle the joints. The chassis rotates a full 360° while the arm tilts through 180° independently.

Both. The kit ships with illustrated step-by-step instructions and pre-tuned code — a motivated Class 10 student can assemble it in a weekend. An engineering-college lab can dig into the servo controllers, Mecanum kinematics and OpenCV internals for a semester. Same hardware, two very different depths.

This kit ships with the Raspberry Pi 4B (4 GB) pre-installed and image-loaded. You can drop in a Pi 4B (8 GB) or a Pi 5 later — Hiwonder’s Python stack is Pi-family compatible with minor tweaks. We’ll walk you through migration if / when you upgrade.

MasterPi ships with a Python + OpenCV stack rather than ROS by default — simpler for STEAM and AI-vision learning. Advanced users can install ROS Noetic on the Pi and drive the servos through Hiwonder’s serial-bus API; we’ll share the reference implementation on request. For a ROS-native platform, see JetAuto or JetHexa.
