Five factors: (1) model and original launch year, (2) total flight hours and battery cycle counts, (3) physical condition (Mint / Excellent / Good / Fair / For Parts), (4) accessories — original box, extra batteries, ND filters, smart controller, charging hub, hard case, (5) current Indian secondary-market demand for that model. We benchmark against the live secondary market and publish an indicative range so you can decide before sending the drone.
How long does the whole process take?
Indicative quote within 24 hours. Pickup arranged within 48 hours of acceptance. Four-stage inspection completes within 48 hours of receipt. Payment within 48 hours of inspection sign-off. End-to-end: typically 5–7 working days from first message to money in your account.
Do I get a GST invoice?
Yes for B2B sellers — companies, agencies, government departments, and PSUs receive a GST-compliant purchase invoice from xBoom for the buyback amount. Our GST: 29CTKPS7090H1ZW. Essential for fixed-asset retirement, books-of-accounts cleanup, and enterprise fleet refreshes. Individual sellers receive a signed handover & payment receipt.
What about DGCA / Digital Sky / NPNT ownership transfer?
We handle the full DGCA Digital Sky ownership transfer paperwork on your behalf — critical for any drone above 250 g registered under Drone Rules 2021. Without proper transfer the previous owner remains legally responsible for the drone's flights. We file Form D-3 transfer-of-ownership, update NPNT bindings, and provide a confirmation letter. Bring your original purchase invoice and Digital Sky registration ID.
Will the price drop a lot after inspection?
Rarely — our quotes are designed to be reliable, not low-balled to draw you in. The final price stays within ±5% of the indicative quote in over 90% of cases. The only times it shifts more are when undisclosed damage shows up — water-damaged motors, severe gimbal mis-alignment, dead batteries below 70% nominal, or non-genuine parts. Disclose everything upfront for a quote that holds.
Do you offer trade-up credit toward a new drone?
Yes — trade your used drone toward a new xBoom purchase, get a typical 5–10% trade-up bonus on the buyback amount, plus priority delivery and free pilot training on the new drone for upgrades within the same brand. Bonus depends on the value gap between trade-in and new drone — bigger upgrades qualify for higher bonus tiers.
What if my drone is damaged or partly broken?
We still buy. Damaged drones are graded as Fair or For Parts and priced accordingly — sometimes the airframe is salvageable for repair-and-resale, sometimes the camera, gimbal, batteries or flight controller alone are worth recovering. If repairable, we may also redirect you to our drone-repair service so you can decide whether to fix and keep, fix and sell at a higher tier, or sell as-is.
Is there a minimum number of drones for fleet trade-in?
No minimum — we buy single drones and full enterprise fleets. For fleet trade-ins of 5+ drones we send a senior buyback specialist for on-site valuation, run consolidated DGCA paperwork, batch the inspection, and offer a fleet-tier price uplift typical 3–8% over individual quotes. We've handled fleet retirements for survey companies, wedding-photography agencies, agriculture spraying operators and government departments.
Where do I send the drone — and is shipping safe?
We arrange insured pickup from any pin code in India through our logistics partners — typical 24–72 hour pickup. The drone is insured in transit at the indicative quoted value. Our service centre is in HSR Layout, Bengaluru — you can also bring the drone in person if you're nearby. Our team unpacks on-camera, runs the inspection, and shares the recording on request.
