Hyderabad Police using patrolling bicycles
The Hyderabad police has launched patrolling bicycles for its constables to visit the places where motorbikes would find the access difficult. Starting with the Punjagutta police, the initiative, titled ‘Street Bicycle Patrolling – Reaching Every Corner’, is expected be rolled out to all police stations in the Hyderabad. “ this initiative has been taken for the police officers to visit the slum areas and other inaccessible places and keep track of all the activities happening around those areas to offer the best possible service to the people”
The patrolling cycle has facilities including a basket to keep the constable’s diary, holders for his walkie-talkie, mobile phone, lathi, water bottle, a first aid and investigation toolkit, a GPS tracker and even a siren!
