Why - Insta360 Luna Ultra ?
1)What makes this different from a standard action camera?
Unlike a standard action camera, this is a 3-axis mechanical gimbal camera with a large 1″ sensor, a Leica Summicron F1.8 lens, and a separate telephoto lens offering up to 12× zoom. It is purpose-built for high-quality handheld video and photography, featuring 8K Dolby Vision recording, 10-bit I-Log color, and professional stabilization rather than wide-angle capture in rugged conditions.
2)Does it work as a selfie camera for solo creators?
Yes. The detachable 2″ OLED touchscreen can be removed from the main gimbal and used as a remote viewfinder and controller at distances up to 20 meters. It includes a built-in microphone, making it ideal for solo vloggers who want to frame and monitor shots without a separate operator. Deep Track 5.0 AI tracking also keeps a single subject centered automatically.
3)What video formats and color profiles are supported?
Video is recorded in MP4 format using H.265 encoding at up to 120Mbps. Supported color profiles include Standard (Rec. 709), Dolby Vision (Rec. 2020), and 10-bit I-Log. I-Log is compatible with ACES color workflow and is natively supported by DaVinci Resolve. Still photos are available in JPG or JPG+RAW format.
4)How is the microphone and audio set up?
The camera features 4 built-in microphones — 3 on the main gimbal and 1 on the detachable touchscreen. Audio is recorded at 48kHz, 32-bit, AAC. A pre-installed wind guard reduces wind noise in outdoor conditions. The camera also supports direct wireless connection to compatible Mic Air or Mic Pro transmitters via Bluetooth for dual-person recording setups, with no additional adapter required.
5) What smartphones and devices are compatible?
The companion app is compatible with iOS devices running iOS 15 or later with Apple A14 chips or newer (including all iPhone 12 and later models, and recent iPad Pro, Air, and mini models). On Android, devices running Android 10 or later with Snapdragon 855, Exynos 2200, Dimensity 9000, or Google Tensor G1 chips and newer are supported. Older devices may still connect but some AI-powered features may have reduced performance.
