The Intel Core i7 development board handles general-purpose code just fine, but real-time deep learning and computer vision need more than a CPU alone can comfortably deliver. That’s what the Jetson Orin NX adds: a dedicated 100 TOPS AI module built around an NVIDIA Ampere GPU and Tensor Cores, purpose-built for inference workloads running alongside the robot’s normal operation.
This is genuinely more involved to install than most B2 accessories. Because it’s built into the robot’s body, ordering it alongside a new B2 or B2-W for factory installation is strongly recommended, rather than retrofitting it separately later.
