Selection Note Each Go2 leg uses one motor of each type. Confirm exactly which joint is damaged before ordering, since the three types aren’t interchangeable

One Damaged Joint, One Part

Unitree Go2 Replacement Motor: Built Around a Shared Design, Sized for Each Joint

Every leg on the Go2 relies on three of these motors working together — one at the body/hip joint, one at the thigh, and one at the calf. Each is built around the same 36-slot, 42-pole BLDC outrunner design paired with a roughly 6.2:1 planetary gearbox, but each covers a different range of motion for its specific joint. When one motor fails or wears out, Unitree’s modular leg design means it can be replaced on its own, without swapping the whole leg.

That said, the three joint types genuinely aren’t interchangeable. The body, thigh, and calf motors each cover a different movement range built for their specific position, so confirm exactly which joint failed before ordering — sending the wrong type won’t fit correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between the Body, Calf, and Thigh motors?
Each covers a different joint and range of motion — body (hip) at roughly -48° to 48°, thigh at roughly -200° to 90°, and calf at roughly -156° to -48°. They aren’t interchangeable.
How do I know which Unitree Go2 Replacement Motor to order?
Identify which specific joint on the leg has failed or is worn — the body/hip, the thigh, or the calf — and order the matching motor type for that position.
What’s the motor’s technical design?
A 3-phase BLDC outrunner motor with a 36-slot, 42-pole Delta winding configuration, paired with a planetary gearbox at roughly a 6.2:1 reduction ratio.
Can I replace just one motor, or do I need to replace the whole leg?
Just the one motor. The Go2’s modular leg design lets each joint motor be replaced individually, without swapping the entire leg assembly.
What’s the peak torque of this motor?
Up to 45 N·m at the platform’s largest joint. Actual torque varies somewhat by the specific joint position (body, thigh, or calf).
Is pricing listed online?
This is priced on request, in line with xBoom’s other genuine Unitree spare parts. Reach out to xBoom for a current quote on the Unitree Go2 Replacement Motor, and specify which joint type you need.
