Healthcare

Diagnostics :

  • Since some diagnostic procedures are time and temperature sensitive, a sample from a patient must be submitted to the lab and the test must be completed within a certain timeframe, which might be as little as 2 hours.
  • Because not every hospital, clinic, or even pharmacy has the same diagnostic tests on hand, couriers are frequently dispatched between healthcare system structures and campuses.
  • A drone can fly fast and far and carry a large payload, which can help you beat the clock.

   Organ transfers:

  • Since the time window for moving organs from donor to patient is short, ranging from 4 to 36 hours depending on the organ type-1, ultra-fast transportation, such as a private jet charter or a helicopter, is essential.
  • Organ delivery can be made faster, safer, and more cost-effective using drones.
  • While the use of drones to transport organs is a legitimate use case, it may take another year or two before it is feasible.
  • Companies are already doing this, but they are primarily in the testing phase.

Blood transport:

  • Transporting a blood sample by truck on a terrible road in a developing country, would mean that the blood can be damaged easily because it bounces around and vibrates.
  • Furthermore, because blood is temperature sensitive, it must be carried within a specific temperature range from point A to point B.
  • Congestion in cities can also make it difficult to move these goods in a timely and efficient manner.
